The management of Marina del Ray earnestly desires to provide our tenants and guests with the ultimate in service, safety and comfort during their stay in the marina. For this reason, you are required to observe the following rules and procedures while you or your vessel is in the marina area.
1. Vessels
Only seaworthy vessels, properly registered or documented and under their own power, will be admitted to the marina. When a vessel enters marina water, it immediately comes under the jurisdiction of the Harbor Master.
Prospective Lessees/Tenants must submit Month to Month Registration Application
and fees for Management's approval with 48 hours, after which funds submitted
will be deposit and month to month lease is final.
2. Emergency repairs
In the event of any emergency during the owner's absence, i.e., breakdown of bilge pumps, leaks, bad mooring lines, etc, the Harbor Master is authorized to make necessary repairs as economically as possible and such repairs will be charged to the vessel's
Lessee. All vessels shall be maintained in a seaworthy condition and shall not constitute a fire hazard. If any craft should sink or become waterlogged, it will be the responsibility of the
Lessee of said craft to have it raised immediately. If after five days prior notice, the craft has not been raised, the marina management reserves the right to undertake raising the craft, and any such expense or cost involved will be charged to the
Lessee. Lessee accepts total responsibility if his craft sinks in the
marina, or any other emergency occurs per above, and Lessee waives any claims
against MDR for same.
3. Walks, Piers, Slip Areas
All walks and piers adjacent to the berths occupied by any craft must be kept clean by the owner of the craft assigned to that slip. These provisions are essential to the cleanliness and the proper operation of the harbor and will be enforced by the Harbor Master. Boat slip areas are to be kept clear at all times. Hoses and electrical lines should not cross slips and piers. No equipment shall be attached to, or constructions or alterations of any kind performed on, the piers or piling. Charcoal fires
(including barbeques) are not permitted on the pier.
Waste oil only may be disposed of in the MDR oil disposal tank for a fee, but
not left in MDR dumpsters or elsewhere in MDR. Sewerage dumps are
available for a fee from water or land for boats, RV and others. Large and
bulky items like discarded refrigerators, motors, etc., must be removed from
premises by Lessee, not placed in or around dumpster.
4. Waste Disposal/Pollution
Lessee agrees not to deposit any refuse, sewage, debris, flammable liquids, used
oil, or any polluting matter in the waters or land of the marina and shall comply with all present and future state, federal and other governmental regulations regarding holding tanks,
fuel/oil, and sewage disposal. All garbage and other waste will be deposited in bins or cans supplied for that purpose.
5. General Conduct
Use of boats moored at the marina for unauthorized commercial purposes is prohibited. Attaching any advertising material to a boat is prohibited. However, any vessel may display a small "For Sale" sign. If Lessee's boat is to be sold privately, Lessee should accompany all prospective buyers when inspecting the boat. No business or professional services may be conducted aboard. Advertising signs are prohibited and there shall be no solicitation of business or the sale of merchandise. Limited boat repairs and maintenance at dockside is at the discretion of Marina del Ray Management
(see Par. 20 and 21). No work may be accomplished on the piers which may
result in damage, scarring or staining the surface of the pier or dock boxes.
Any person other than Lessee or Marina del Ray service employees who performs work on any vessel must present a certificate of insurance to the marina office and must receive a pass before performing any such services
(see Par. 20 and 21). No vessel is to be fueled in any way in its boat slip nor may fuel be transferred from one tank to another. There shall be no storage of any flammable substance on or near the pier or bulkhead.
6. Children
All children twelve (12) years of age or under are required to wear life jackets while on docks or other areas adjoining the water and
such children are not permitted on the docks and finger piers without the immediate presence of their parents or other responsible adults.
7. Pets
Pets are permitted as long as they do not interfere with other Lessees. Pets must be leashed at all times and toileted only in
designated areas, which does NOT include the Children's Playground.
8. Marina Navigation
The Rules of the Road and the navigation laws of the United States shall apply to all vessels in or approaching Marina del Ray. No vessel shall be operated as to cause a wake in Marina del Ray or the river approaching the marina.
9. Water Sports
Swimming and diving within the marina for recreation or pleasure is prohibited. This will be strictly enforced by marina management.
10. Parking
Lessee shall park vehicles in area designated for marina tenant parking. Parking areas shall not be used for storage of trailers or any other vehicle
or equipment without the permission of marina management.
11. Noise
Lessee shall use discretion in the use of T.V. sets, radios and other sound equipment so as not to create an annoyance for others in the marina. Rigging shall be secured in such a manner as to prevent noise.
12. Property Damage
Lessee shall be required to pay the cost of repairs or replacement of any property damaged by their families or guests.
Lessee or operators of a craft damaging the piers or docks while docking shall be liable and must pay for the cost of repairs. The marina management shall have a lien on any such vessel, its equipment and appurtenances in the event of such damage to the marina.
13. Freeze Conditions
Marina management reserves the right to shut off water supply and drain water pipes during freezing temperatures. The management will use their own discretion for reinstating the water supply.
14. Power Loss
Lessee waivers any claims for power loss and resultant damages aboard his vessel
including sinking in case of power loss due to hurricane, freeze, accident or
any other cause. Marina del Ray will assist in having power restored
upon request.
15. Marina Use/Access
The use or access to piers, docking or berthing areas is restricted to owners, crew or guests for security and safety reasons. Access by any other person requires the approval of the Harbor Master.
16. Mooring
All boats shall be moored by owner in safe manner, on cleats with lines equal to or better than:
Displacement less than 7,000 #1/2" nylon lines.
Displacement more than 7,000 # 5/8" nylon lines.
Displacement more than 10,000#, per Coast Guard
specifications.
17. Sub-Leasing/Transferring of Vessels
Sub-leasing of slips or transferring of vessels from one slip to another slip will not be allowed, except on prior approval of the Harbor Master.
Lessee agrees that in case of emergency the Harbor Master may temporarily move the vessel from the particular space rented to any other mooring place.
Only vessel owned and registered in the name of Lessee can be moored in Lessee's slip (you cannot let a friend use your slip
or moor a 2nd
boat Tenant owns with another Registration Number in Tenant’s slip unless
approved in advance by Office for 2nd owned boat). MDR reserves the right to lease
any slip at MDR even if someone is currently leasing the same slip but is out of
port.
No slips shall be "held or Reserved" for any person other than a Lessee who is
current on slip rent. Even so, MDR has the right to rent said slips
to others when Lessee of record is out of port or cancels his lease (Transfer of
slips from a Lessee to another party is not permitted).
When Lessee sells his boat to another party, this does NOT include transfer of
the slip to the new owner, which must be approved by the Office in same fashion
as any new Lessee including registration after MDR waiting list.
18. Water/Air-Conditioners
Water siphons should not be used except in case of emergency. Fresh water may not be used as a coolant for air conditioner or other machinery. Air conditioners should be turned off on unattended vessels. Water supply hoses of unattended vessels should be disconnected at the dock and stored aboard.
Each Lessee agrees that the use of this boat slip shall be subject to all regulations of Marina del Ray which are published and in effect from time to time
including amendments per Par. 21 during the term of the month to month Lease Agreement and that a breach of any such rules and regulations shall constitute a breach of covenant of his Boat Slip Lease.

19. Payment of Slip Rent/Other Charges
Payment of slip rent and other charges is due on the first of each month.
If payment of these charges is not received by MDR by the 5th of the month due,
Lessee agrees to a stipulated late fee of 20% of the balance due. Finally,
Lessee agrees to pay reasonable attorney's fees and court costs, if any, should
Lessee's account be placed with an attorney for collection. Lessee may
avail himself of the opportunity to pay these charges automatically by Credit
Card to avoid these problems as long as Credit Card is not declined.
Each Lessee agrees that the use of his boat slip shall be subject to these Rules
and Procedures of Marina del Ray which are published and in effect from time to
time including new amendments during the term of the month to month Lease. The Rules and
Procedures will be updated and amended from time to time and can be viewed or
printed by going to the MDR website at

20. Boat Repairs/Maintenance/Contractors
Minor repairs/maintenance may normally be done in the slip by Lessee or his
Contractor. However, no repairs with noisy grinders, sanders, power hammers,
other power tools, etc., may be used in the Marina causing noise pollution for
shipmates. Hand sanding is permitted. Power sanding is not. Interior minor work
in these categories may be permitted while exterior is not. Check with office to
be sure. Do not impede finger or dock with debris/furniture/equipment/tools,
etc., which may impede shipmates for over 30 minutes. Painting inside your boat
is permitted by hand, but outside painting is not . Power painting with spray
gun, etc., is not permitted inside or outside your boat. If in doubt or anything
above or anything not covered, check with office.
Contractors must have proper insurance and check in with Office and must be on
MDR approved list. Contractors must read and comply with the foregoing,
especially check with Office on matters not covered. Lessee is responsible for
his Contractor in all ways, and signature below by Lessee is agreement to hold
MDR harmless for acts of Lessee's Contractor. Contractor must dispose of
debris/trash he generates by hauling off premises, not using MDR dumpsters or
other location on MDR premises for discarding trash. This is especially true for
large heavy bulky items like refrigerators/motors/air conditioners, etc.
Detailers are Contractors and must abide by all the above.
21. Online Version Kept Up To Date

as necessary. Refer to the live version from time to time to keep current
on changes.
22. Swimming Pool Usage
Use of Swimming pool
is restricted to Tenants and authorized guests. All are required to shower
before entering pool. A shower is provided at the north end of pool. MDR Staff
may permit fuel customers at Convenience Store to take a brief dip after
showering while taking on fuel only. Pool may be closed from time to time for
functions or maintenance.
